Wood and Bioenergy Exhibition 2011 attracted around 7,000 visitors to
Jyväskylä
”Number One event in the wood industry in Finland”
The Wood and Bioenergy 2011 exhibition attracted around 7,000 professionals
to the Congress and Trade Fair Center Jyväskylä Paviljonki during the three
exhibition days from Wednesday to Friday. Bror-Erik Backman, Marketing
Manager of the Swedish Waco Jonsereds Ab, was very satisfied with the
exhibition offer. For Waco, the most important at exhibitions is to meet
customers. However, although the company’s main purpose of attending the
exhibition was not to sell, they managed to close even major machine deals.
Mr. Backman relates: ”At the Wood and Bioenergy Exhibition you meet all the
important customers at the same time. Now we have quite an explicit view of
the Finnish situation and we made great savings in the travel costs for 2–3
months. Waco Jonsereds has attended this exhibition from the very beginning.
The city is easily accessible and the new trade fair and congress hotel
beside Paviljonki is the icing on the cake. This is and continues to be the
Number One event in Finland.”
This year’s exhibition is evaluated very positively also by Pasi
Vuohelainen, Managing Director of Innomac:
”In addition to the customer contacts, we also closed deals at the
exhibition. As the market situation of the industry turned to a worse
direction during the summer, we did not have very high expectations.
However, the final result was a nice surprise.”
Miikka Kivistö, Marketing Manager of Penope Oy, was especially happy with
the fact that the visitors included very many professionals from the
furniture and panel industry. According to him, there are no barriers for
the Wood and Bioenergy exhibition to continue expanding to this direction in
the future.
Expanding the exhibition to the direction of the wood product industry has
been a successful solution, confirms Jyri Siekkinen, Sales Director of
Jyväskylä Fair Ltd. The Wood and Bioenergy exhibition presented the entire
value chain of wood from the forest to the world.
The next Wood and Bioenergy exhibition will be organised in September 2013
at the Congress and Trade Fair Center Jyväskylä Paviljonki. According to Mr.
Siekkinen, the aim is to take the event to a more and more extensive
direction, covering the entire industry.
The Wood and Bioenergy 2011 exhibition was arranged for the 12th time at the
Congress and Trade Fair Center Jyväskylä Paviljonki in September 7 to 9 by
Jyväskylä Fair Ltd. in co-operation with the Finnish Forest Industries
Federation, PRA Group / Aalto University, Puuinfo Oy, the Association of
Finnish Wood Industry Technicians and Engineers, the Association of
Furniture and Joinery Entrepreneurs, the Association of the Finnish
Small-Scale Sawmilling Entrepreneurs, the Finnish Woodworking Engineers
Association, the Association of Finnish Sawmillmen, the Finnish Sawmills
